Through the Valley of Shadows

Lorraine is in our womens TPM group. She comes when she is not jet setting around the world supporting her husband in their business. We all share together our spiritual journey; it is very special.

Last week Lorraine told us they were having trouble with their son, Alex. Alex was born with a kidney disorder, which, over his lifetime, has involved him in 2 kidney transplants.

He has had a difficult teenage time wanting to be like everyone else but unable to be. Recently, in frustration, he stopped taking his medication. A blood test last Tuesday showed his body was rejecting his kidney.

Another transplant is not an option. Alex, at 19, had to decide whether he wanted kidney dialysis for the rest of his life or ‘to let nature take its course.’

He chose the latter. He may live this week and into next week.

Alex has been an objectionable youth and is now trying to make amends. He feels he does not have enough time to prove he can be ‘good.’ Peace eludes him. The valley is shadowed!

We pray he finds the same grace as the thief on the cross; the grace and mercy that says, ‘TODAY you will be ok!’

Can you imagine the heartache, tension and turmoil in this family with his 5 siblings, parents and friends trying to say goodbye!

Yesterday I read a verse full of hope and am praying it for Alex, please would you join me?

Jude 24 ‘And now all glory to God, who is able to keep Charles from stumbling, and who brings him into His glorious presence INNOCENT OF SIN AND WITH GREAT JOY!’

What an amazing God who has the power to make any one of us innocent of sin!
